What Care Does

Care volunteers can be drivers, duty officers or both.

Care completed nearly 1200 drives covering over 22,000 miles in the year 2019/2020 to local hospitals , surgeries and clinics, including hospitals in Guildford , Frimley, Chertsey and Chichester. The numbers diminished during the COVID pandemic but are gradually increasing again.

Care is funded by donations from clients, gifts and legacies. These cover the administrative costs and mileage allowances.
Clinic appointments

Care provides lifts for people, living in Haslemere and surrounding villages, who are unable to use or have difficulty with public transport.

Care drivers use their own cars.

Care has just over 35 volunteers. Due to regular retirements the charity is always looking for new recruits

Care duty officers operate from an office in the Methodist Church, Lion Green, Haslemere taking requests from clients by phone.
