What Care Does

Care volunteers can be drivers, duty officers or both. Care drivers use their own cars.
Haslemere Health Centre & Pharmacy

In the year from April 2023 to March 2024, Care completed 1,031 trips covering 19,020 miles.

Care is funded by donations from clients, gifts and legacies. These cover administrative costs and drivers’ mileage expenses.
Clinic appointments

Care provides lifts for people living in Haslemere and surrounding villages who are unable to use or have difficulty with public transport.

Care has around 35 volunteers. Due to regular retirements the charity is always looking for new recruits.

Care duty officers operate from an office in the Methodist Church, Lion Green, Haslemere, taking requests from clients by phone.

​These were trips to local hospitals, surgeries and clinics, including hospitals in Guildford, Frimley, Chertsey and Chichester.
