For Users
If you live in Haslemere, Fernhurst, Grayshott or Hindhead and find it hard or inconvenient to use public transport to get to a medical appointment, please seek help from Care.

The volunteer drivers, using their own cars, are able to take you from your home to your destination and home again. If required, the drivers will accompany you at the hospital or clinic. Care suggests that a donation is made to cover the running costs of the car for the journey. See DONATIONS Tab for guidelines

When you phone Care, the duty officer will need to know the details of your appointment and whether you have any problems such as difficulty with mobility or vision, in order that the driver can be prepared. Drivers are unable to take wheelchairs in their vehicles, but some hospitals will provide them. Please ask the duty officer for advice when booking the trip. Care is unable to take very disabled people unless they are accompanied by a carer.
Care needs at least three days’ notice to find a driver. Occasionally it is possible to find a driver on the same day as the request but there is no guarantee of this.
